On Wednesday 23rd November, Modvion was crowned as a winner of the E-Prize 2022 competition in the renewable energy category! The E-Prize is Sweden’s biggest competition for the energy sector, organised for the 14th year in a row by the media outlets Dagens Industri and Aktuell Hållbarhet, together with the energy concern E-ON.
In many ways the competition has never been more relevant, when electricity prices are rising and the energy crisis is constant front-page news. It’s encouraging and exciting to see innovations in the energy sector, not least from the other industry disruptors in our category – Svea Solar and Cellfion.
When the winner was announced the jury gave this as their motivation for choosing Modvion:”With a high level of innovation and the help of the Swedish forest, they raise sustainability as high as the skies for the leading form of renewable energy right now.”
Modvion’s wooden tower technology enables the wind power industry to build cost-effective, tall, and perhaps the world’s most sustainable wind turbines. Our CEO and co-founder, Otto Lundman, was there to accept the award – ’thank you for recognising that our technology will transform the industry. Building renewable energy with renewable materials can make wind power even more attractive, profitable and sustainable’.
Otto brought his son, Alvar, on stage as the youngest attendee at the Aktuell Hållbarhet conference. Alvar enjoyed accepting prizes on behalf of Modvion and might come along again for very special occasions!
Congratulations to all the finalists and the winners in the other categories, Candela (Sustainable transport), Ligna Energy (Energy optimisation) and Svea Solar (The people’s prize). Read more about the winners at Aktuell Hållbarhet (Swe).
